Creekside Inn Wedding in the Sedona Woods
Jenny and David were married at the beautiful Sedona Creekside Inn in early June this year. I’ve been dragging my feet with their blog post because I’m just not sure exactly how to tell their amazing wedding day story, but with Jenny’s permission here goes. The hot summer day started as any other wedding afternoon. Jenny was one of the most gracious and kind brides I have had the pleasure to work with in the wedding industry. We planned the timeline so that Jenny and David could have a few minutes before the ceremony to see each other and take some photos by the creek.
We have photographed many weddings at this particular location, so I was familiar with the lay of the land. I kicked my shoes to the side and got my feet wet in the creek in preparation of capturing the bride and groom walking across a small slat bridge. As Jenny glanced back at David, one wrong step turned into a sideways tumble into the muddy creek water. David jumped in after her, his feet wet up to his knees, and kissed her. Meanwhile, I was completely stunned not sure exactly how to react just moments before we are suppose to head up to the ceremony where the guests were waiting. I snapped a few shots of the vendors cleaning up her dress with a hose!
Jenny was amazing! I can’t say that enough. I’m not sure sure how I would have behaved, but Jenny laughed through a few tears and reassured everyone that it would be ok. The team of family and vendors pulled together to get everything cleaned up and we made it down the aisle only a few minutes late. I would never question the character of a bride who is able to smile and laugh despite the unplanned trash the dress session before the ceremony.
Cheers to Jenny and David!
